YES, WE ARE OPEN! Located on the highly-prized Redstone Luxury Estate, our cottage boasts unparalleled views of the Black Mountains. Located at the base of Celo Knob, NC’s 4th largest mountain, our recently-renovated cottage is almost completely surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. Most guest love the intimate and moody setting while enjoying panoramic vistas and excellent amenities. Explore nearby hiking trails, waterfalls, and scenic vistas all from trails starting in your own backyard!

We are pleased to say, that after Hurricane Helene, our property has made a full recovery and is welcoming travelers once again. Almost all roads in the surrounding area leading to our property have been repaired and restaurants/stores in burnsville are now open for business! Perched at the highest point of the Redstone multimillion dollar estate, the views from the cottage of the surrounding valley and the Pisgah National Forest are unparalleled. Come enjoy the beautiful views of the Appalachian Mountains while basking in the hot tub, or snuggled up around the wood burning fireplace. The home comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a grill for all your cooking needs. We also provide a regular drip coffee machine and keurig machine with pods, cream, and sugar for your use. There are 2 main sleeping areas. The main floor master and the loft. On the main floor, you have the king bed and the full bathroom/laundry. in the 2nd story loft, you have both the twin and queen beds. At Redstone, we believe in luxury, which is why all our beds are purchased new from Brooklyn bedding and all our percale sheets come from Parachute sheets. You will be sure to sleep like a baby! The stairs to the loft are ship-ladder style stairs, with railings all the way up for you to hold. Although they are steep, we have taken every measure to ensure they are safe and easy to use. However, we recommend that children under the age of 5 be accompanied by an adult when using them. Just below the home on the hill, the home also features a massive fire-pit area where you can sit and enjoy the view. Just behind the house are several trails that lead straight into the National Forest going all the way to the top of Mt Celo, North Carolinas 4th largest mountain. You will see several waterfalls and beautiful views on your way up. While the Mansion is visible in the wintertime from the deck, the cottage is very secluded and tucked away in the upper corner of the estate.

If you do decide to stay at our lovely home, we do charge the following fees separately after you book: 1) Refundable Security Deposit - $300. We recommend paying this with a credit card since it will only be a hold placed on your card during your reservation. If you pay with a debit card or direct ACH transfer, the money will be withdrawn from your account 3 days before check-in and refunded 3 days afterwards upon successful inspection of the premises. 2) Dogs - $100/dog per reservation. We allow up to three dogs per reservation to be paid after booking. Please note this is not reflected in your reservation price and is an additional charge. If you wish to host a wedding or special event, please reach out directly to the host. Please note our rates differ based on size and scope of the wedding/event. This property is located 1 mile off the main road. It is a very well-maintained gravel road. However, due to the extreme weather we often experience in the mountains, we require all guests come with all-wheel/4 wheel drive vehicles. There is enough parking for up to 6 vehicles comfortably at the cottage.

Grease and food scraps can attract bears and other wildlife, creating safety concerns for everyone. A grill brush is provided—just dip it in water and use it while the grill is still hot for easy steam cleaning of the grates. To help us maintain a safe environment for guests and local wildlife, a $25 fee will be charged if the grill is left dirty or the grease trap is not emptied. Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire property, the fire pit area below, and are free to explore any of the trails leading into the national park. Unless you have rented the entire estate, we ask that you do not wander off into the gardens or grounds of the Mansion as other guests may be staying there. However, the entire estate sits on more than 7.5 acres of secluded mountain hillside so there is plenty of space for you to enjoy your stay!

Redstone Cottage is a fantastic, well managed property that I would highly recommend. Stunning views and seclusion with all of the modern amenities you can want. Perfect base camp for exploring the area. Every night we looked forward to getting back to the cottage to unwind in the hot tub and enjoy the sunset. We also had a great dinner in nearby downtown Burnsville and caught some live music at Homeplace, the brewery in town. Dreamy getaway. Go for it!

We had an amazing time on our quick mountain getaway. Matthew’s home felt luxurious and was exactly what we were looking for. It also had stunning views and everything we needed for a quiet retreat away from the city. We spent the days exploring the trails behind the home and spent the evenings cooking in the kitchen and enjoying the hot tub out on the deck. The gifts for us and the pup were also much appreciated. Thanks Matthew, we would love to stay again!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The view was stunning! The hosts were super communicative and provided us with a lovely welcome. They were very pet friendly which I so appreciate. Our dog was right at home! Definitely listen to the hosts recommendation to bring a four wheel drive vehicle as it is a steep climb. I accidentally overlooked that detail, which was completely my mistake and not the fault of the hosts at all! We were in our minivan and were able to get close enough to the house, but having our four wheel drive definitely would have been way better!

Matthew made us feel right at home immediately. We brought our dog, Annie, and they even had a ball and a snack waiting for her!!! The home was spotless, as were the towels and linens. Communication was spot on, and we could opt for early check-in. The views are spectacular. We frequently stay in the NC mountains, and these views far exceed all others. We were there for the Toe River Art Tour, and it was wonderful returning to this beautiful place after a long day. We will DEFINITELY be back. Linda and Steve

The cottage is lovely and cozy! So very well designed and with incredible views of the mountains. It is so private with trees and nature on all sides. A lovely spot to enjoy stillness and beauty and rejuvenation.

We had a great stay! The home is super cozy and has the best views. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the deck and checking out the trails behind the house. Getting up there you will definitely AWD, but once there it’s nice not to leave - we only left once to get a few groceries from the town. The team was super communicative and available if anything came up!
